This is one of my favorite photos taken of a group of men standing on a rooftop in New Orleans, Louisiana. I happened to look up and saw them being so still that I originally thought they were statues on the rooftop. I kept watching, trying to see if there were any movement, but saw nothing. Finally decided to take a photo of the "statues" in such an unusual place. When bringing the camera back down, the figure on the far left very kindly removed his hat for just a moment! I waved to him when I saw him do that and he waved back! Apparently, he was watching me, too! Curiosity on both parts! Thought this image would work well with a verse of scripture.

Although I have no formal training in photography, I have always enjoyed taking pictures. Photography has been a hobby for over 30 years: from the simplicity of a tele-instamatic camera, to learning the intricacies of the more challenging 35mm. I explored 35mm low light photography at Mardi Gras parades with my dad's old Argus camera which had no light attachment. Also used it on vacations, still getting by without any light attachment - the camera was so old an attachment could no longer be purchased for it, if it in deed was ever available. Later, I purchased a Yashica 35GSN and had the ability to use external lighting with it. Eventually I added an APS camera to the mix and in recent years have gone digital. I have truly enjoyed the...
